The band behind one of the rock’s most remarkable breakthroughs in this decade, finally returns to Copenhagen when The War On Drugs on November 25 gives a concert in the new TAP1 at Amager.
The concert was published just like the band in connection with Record Store Day released their first single in three years, the 11-minute longe “Thinking of a Place”, and announced that a new album is on its way.
With quality songs and innovative approaches to the classic rock virtues from Bruce and Bob, the War On Drugs is one of this decades most popular shootings on the American rock scene. It was underlined by the great breakthrough album Lost In The Dream from 2014, where the bands primus motor, singer and songwriter Adam Granduciel, marked himself as one of his generation’s strongest songwriters with ten guitar-driven and dream-driven songs.
Since then, you have had to look beyond Denmark’s borders to experience The War on Drugs. Now the band returns with new single, an album on the way and a tour that includes Copenhagen on November 25th 2017.
The War On Drugs songs have always been long. The new single, “Thinking of a Place”, is with its 11 minutes, a song where the listener can get lost in the joy of recognition of the guitar’s nuances. Stereogum calls the number “an absolute epic” and Pitchfork has acknowledged with the “Best New Music”.
