Interpol has just revealed news about their upcoming album “Marauder” with a release on August 24th. The first single from the new album, “The Rover” has just been released on the world’s digital services. Over two decades, Interpol has built a massive audience with their unique and associated blend of Joy Division’s gloomy post-punk and R.E.M.’s melodic rock. And over time, they have been touring with icons and role models such as U2 and The Cure.
On November 24th, they will give a Saturday concert in Copenhagen at TAP1. The band, still led by Paul Banks, celebrated last year the 15th anniversary of their debut, Turn on the Bright Lights, with a worldwide tour where they also played for a sold out DR Concert Hall, with rousing reviews from the country’s music media.
It’s almost four years since Interpol released their latest album, ‘El Pintor’, but in the meantime Paul Bank has collaborated with Wu-Tang Clan member RZA about the album ‘Anything But Words’, which they released in 2016 as ” Banks & Steelz “.
But 2018 will be a true Interpol year, and when the dust has settled after Roskilde Festival, they can start looking forward to the release of their new album “Marauder” on August 24th.
